Update!

Hokay. So. Here's the skinny on stuff lately. Not sure if I said so or not, but we had our home inspection last Monday. The inspector was actually pretty impressed as to how well the home was maintained for its age. (It was built in 1952) We had some minor things to ask for, and our realtor suggested that we go ahead and ask for the request for remedy on all the items since they were small. The bathroom had a slow drain in the tub and barely any water pressure in the sink, so those were two things. We asked that they add a breaker to the breaker box downstairs, since one of them was double tapped and there was room to grow. That was the third thing. The garage had a hole in the drywall in the back (not a huge deal, just a small "oops"), so we asked for that to be corrected. (Thing #4) Above the garage, the vinyl had a small hole near the right hand side (#5), and finally the chimney on the left side of the house had a small fissure in the brick, and we asked for that to be sealed (6th and final). So lucky for us, the seller agreed to repair all of these things! Now we are working on getting home insurance quotes and getting our financing squared away. Check out my flickr page (over there on the right) for some pictures!

Wedding stuff... I still have yet to decide on bridesmaids' gowns, but I at least know that the main color is going to be navy blue. I think I'm going to use Teal/Marine/Peacock blue for accents and things like that, but I think Navy wins for the base of the palette. For instance, I adore this dress from Ann Taylor, in the color Galaxy. However, what worries me is that a.) the girls won't like it enough, b.) it's strapless and I don't know how they feel about that, and c.) it's a little on the pricey side. So, I'm looking for cheaper options, and I think that for the most part, David's Bridal should be able to cover my needs.

Save-the-dates... I have a friend, Pam, who is a graphics designer and has offered to help us with a design!! I'm so excited. When we get that design we'll just go shopping for paper and then send them out.

Flowers... getting there. I'm struggling with keeping focus here, but I have a meeting with a florist on Thursday to see his proposal for my wedding. I just need to make a few more appointments with some other folks to see how they compare.

Pictures... We had our engagement session with the fabulous Heather King on Saturday. She was such a trooper and hung out with us for about 3 hours. The weather ranged from too sunny and just a bit breezy while we were in Schiller Park and German Village, all the way to overcast, windy, and chilly while we were on Ohio State's campus. I can't wait to see the proofs!!! In the meantime, go check out her work here.

I think that's about it.

The dress at Ann Taylor is gorgeous! I definitely think there's something like that at David's Bridal. I say just go for it!

Now that the house is in contract you can spend more time on finding a florist! Maybe while Jonathan's out of town would be a good time to make a few appointments? ;) Matt didn't go with me to any florist appts... seriously men could care less.

Anyway let me know if you need help with anything! :)
