My review

rating: 1 of 5 stars
I read the first 2 chapters of this book and laughed my fat ass off. I can definitely get behind the attitude that coffee, alchohol, sugar, diet soda, etc. can truly be unhealthy for you. A few chapters further into the book and I started thinking to myself... this doesn't seem right... why are they telling me to lay off skim milk and chicken? Enter the chapter about the "Dead, Rotting Flesh Diet". Hooooooolyyyyyy Cooooow. No pun intended. I'll spare you the details but the stuff I read about in slaughter houses and chicken/egg farms was horrifying. I wanted to cry. I cannot stand the idea of animal abuse. I put down the book immediately, and began to Google the book and its authors. A few articles and reviews later, I realized I was buying vegan lifestyle "propaganda" hook, line and sinker.

Now, before I piss anyone off, there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a vegan diet/lifestyle. In fact, I wish I had that kind of willpower. However, I absolutely DESPISE the fact that this book has been falsely marketed to women like me who will read or listen to anything that would help them become a so called "Skinny Bitch" for life. Perhaps I'm too trusting of the book covers I see. I felt betrayed after realizing that the two women who paired up to write this book are a.)a former model, and b.)a former modeling agent at Ford. Um... ladies? you have NO idea what my life is like, and what my nutritional needs are. I cannot medically survive on 700 calories a day. I would become a serial killer.

If you want to live a vegan lifestyle, then I would be your first cheerleader. In fact, I can probably recommend a few really good nutritional books and websites dedicated to a sincere presentation of veganism! But please - don't fake the rest of us out with clever marketing and a string of profanity meant to make us laugh. All you're really doing there is destroying what's left of our meager self-esteem. There is so much negativity in the world now. The least the authors of this book could do would be to present their lifestyle in a positive way. As it stands, I would absolutely not recommend this book to anyone.
