A Vivid Imagination

I'm having an awful period. I've been tired for two straight days, cramping for three, and I finally decided to call in sick today. I slept until 11. My digestive system is throwing wild parties. I'm also feeling pretty stressed - needing to get the apartment finished, company coming, paying bills, work is getting closer to football season, etc. So I guess I really needed the sleep last night. The constant dreaming, however, I could have done without.

It started out in a large house belonging to my dad out in the country. It was snowing for some reason, and I was living with my dad, so I decided to volunteer to use the snowblower and help clean off the driveway. It was a normal sized driveway, but as I was going up and down the rows, and either a - forgetting to turn the snowblower on while Christine laughed at me in the distance, or b- hitting patches where I was running with the snowblower, the driveway kept getting bigger. I think by the end of that sequence in the dream it was a parking lot. I was removing snow for hours and hours. I think I even went out into the road at some point and was running across the street to avoid oncoming cars. Oh, and then there were three evergreen trees stuck growing in the middle of the road. I don't remember actually finishing the parking lot part, but I do remember crossing the street at one point and my dad saying that we should go in. So we put the equipment in the garage, and I see a baby sitting in a car seat wearing nothing but a gray long sleeve tee shirt and green pants. I assume the baby is cold, so I pick him up - he's been out there for hours!!! He's got this look on his face that's very worried. So I hold him and take him inside and all of a sudden he's naked, and I'm really worried that he's going to poop on me. So I immediately get a diaper on him, and someone brings me another baby - looks almost identical, but a bit smaller and happier. This one already has the diaper on him, and no one knows whose babies these are. I take the babies into a living room with ugly green carpet - and the scene changes.

I find myself in a bathroom in the same house, and it's just a toilet, so I'm wondering where I go to wash my hands - and I see that these French doors appear along the wall and I can see through the glass that the sink is through there. Oh, and the lock on the bathroom door is a pull-chain. I have never seen anything like it. And then it disappears.

Now I'm in a department store that seems like a cross between walmart, target, and big lots. I'm shopping for nothing in particular. I just walk everywhere. I find myself in the intimates section, and I'm looking at this pair of gorgeous underwear. They're made of a navy blue chiffon, with ruffled legs and a ruffled panel along the waist band. There's a navy blue ribbon right at the top tied into a bow, and there are small rhinestones placed along the rear and front portions, sort of in a pattern but not really. All I can think of is how much I want this underwear, but can't afford it. So I continue shopping in the section, and I remember wondering how a place this cheap can sell such cool intimates for steep prices. It was like a boutique got dropped into the middle of of Big Lots. It just didn't fit. And then another scene change.

I'm in a different house this time, and my sister is with me. I don't remember much about this environment other than looking out the window at the landscape, and seeing that the clouds are pretty nasty. I hear on a radio somewhere that a hellacious storm is coming. I can see a giant wedge tornado in the distance, so I try to go downstairs but something is pulling at me from a different angle and I'm fighting to move my own body. I glance out the window and I'm seeing houses and businesses just explode, one right after the other - and it's so weird, because the explosions are smokeless - it's just wood and siding and rooftops going all over the place. No fire. All of a sudden Christine has disappeared and I stop trying to go downstairs. I go outside and start searching for her. I'm going up and down hills, trying to avoid the storm. At one point I think I was lying in a ditch and saw a shopping center blow up - store by store. It started in the middle with the biggest store and then fizzled out by the time it got to the end, so the end stores didn't blow up. One of the stores was green, so there were green 2x4's flying everywhere. I think I saw signs on a road too, and that indicated I was somewhere in Rhode Island. I finally found Christine near an ice cream shop and she was holding a teddy bear. We decided to stick together since now we were both lost. At one point Jonathan showed up - he was looking for both of us, and it was like we hadn't seen each other in years or something. I couldn't stop looking at him, and couldn't let go of him. And that's all I remember from that section.

Now I'm with a guy and we've just jumped into the water from a sinking ship, Titanic style. I remember swimming fast toward open water, trying to avoid parts of the ship falling on me. I had some near misses... but this person and I finally found a boat. There was a dead person hanging on to it. Gross, but we pushed the dead person off and both climbed into the boat. We were both strangely calm. It was night. But we could see the lights from a city not too far away. I think it was Boston. The next thing I know we've climbed onto a grassy bank, and there's a festival going on. No one seems to notice that we're even there. Our clothes are torn and soaking, and the other festival goers are dressed early 1900s style. We continue walking and we're just walking along all these sidewalks, when we come across a woman who is sitting and talking with family or friends. She looks up at us and invites us into a house (which has just sort of appeared on the bank of a pond in this park), and I assume it's to help us get cleaned up and find out what happened.

We're meeting this woman's little girl - she looks to be about 3 or 4... and the little girl starts attacking the woman, biting both her nipples clean off!!! Anyway, this little girl lives in the basement, and the poor woman was all healed up or something. She said that the only thing she can give her is beer. and you have to put the beer glass down so she can stick her whole head in there. It was so strange to watch. At one point in the dream I went down to give her the beer and she was actually a cat. The cat drank the beer down in like, 30 seconds flat, but you had to get out of there before it was finished because if you didn't, you were liable to get attacked too.

The dream ended with the child being all better because some ladies took it to a sort of mental institution, and it was normal again. Then I woke up.

Where do I come up with this craziness???
