Friday night Jonathan came home and he and I got a chance to go hang out with Christine and Joe - they fed us, which was very cool, and I got to see the baby a bit. We left around midnight, and I managed to leave both my camera and phone there ...whoops.
Saturday Jonathan and I made our regular weekend jaunt to Panera for coffee and light reading, then I dropped him off at home. I also made an extra trip to the pharmacy - he's had some really wicked allergies this spring, which is new. He and I get fall hay fever, but this has been ridiculous. Anyhow, after dropping him off I went back to Christine's and played with the baby for another hour and a half or so. It's amazing how much a nearly 2 month old child can consume your attention!! I love it. She's such a pistol. I went out shopping for a few things, and then headed home to get ready for my evening out. Mandy, Dave and Jonathan and I wanted to hit Gallery Hop for the evening, but Jonathan was just feeling too under the weather - so I got ready to go to the Cinqo de Mayo party at casa di rebecca y mandy. I had just finished an article about Alfred Hitchcock and his movies, and so I had Tippie Hedren on the brain - thus my muse for the hairdo - I will post pictures at a later date when my computer is back in my possession. I made it to the party sans date, and nearly made out with Becky. It was grand. ;) 5 quick 6 oz margaritas later, I found myself barefoot on the back porch in line to beat the crap out of boot-shaped pinata. I swung, hit the pinata (it didn't break), and then promptly hit the grass. I have a nice little bruise on my left hip now. HA!
Sunday morning (hangover free!!!) I took Jonathan to work *he still was vehicle-less at this point*, and went back to bed until after noon. OY... I did manage to make it out to brunch with a new book - "Confessions of a Shopaholic" by Sophie Kinsella - and shopped for a few things for Mother's Day. I picked up Jonathan from work, and then we headed over to the Schott for "An Evening with Al Gore". It was about an hour-long lecture - I really enjoyed it. Al Gore is a great public speaker, and I think it is absolutely necessary that as adults, as citizens, as a human race - we begin to do some of the things he suggests to ensure the future of our planet (at least until the sun becomes a red giant and swallows us whole...). SO. I signed up for the WE campaign.
It is my personal wish that you jump on this website and check it out. It has really useful information on ways you can make your lifestyle a "green" one; there are petitions you can sign (optional, of course) for certain issues; and great ways to get in contact with your government representatives and tell them that it's important to you that we keep our environment safe for the present, and even more crucial - our future.
I'll post some pictures later. :) Happy Cinqo De Mayo!!!
